I'd like to welcome you to St Bede's Catholic High School, a caring Christian community where Jesus is at the centre of our life.

We recognise that each and every one of us is a unique creation in God and we celebrate our faith with daily acts of worship and prayer as well as regular whole school masses. Our Catholic ethos is the foundation for our success and helps to make our school a place where our students are encouraged to become citizens of a multicultural society, understanding and respecting difference and celebrating diversity.

Our Key Priorities for 2010/11 are:
A: Nurturing an ethos of a caring Catholic community built on respect for eachother
B: To deliver the improvements identified by OFSTED needed to move St Bede's from Good to Outstanding by:

  • Consistently ensuring that a high percentage of students gain grades A* to C at GCSE in mathematics
  • Ensuring that best practices in teaching and learning are spread more widely so that all students have the opportunity to be challenged in their learning
  • Ensuring that Leadership throughout the school have a secure view of whole-school issues and are sufficiently spreading best practice widely

We will endeavour to achieve this by:

  1. Improving learning and teaching
  2. Developing the curriculum
  3. Improving pupil achievement including the use of information, data, targets & tracking
  4. Improving the pastoral system
  5. Embedding Arts College
  6. Professional support and CPD
  7. Improving facilities
  8. Developing leadership throughout the School
  9. Developing the Catholic Ethos of the School
  10. Developing careers, information, advice and guidance, 14-19 education and work related learning
